Camp Turk Committee

The Camp Turk Committee

Chair W:. Robert Ludwig

The Camp Turk Committee, chaired by W:. Robert Ludwig, provides support for Camp Turk, a priority for the Grand Lodge.  Camp Turk is a Residential Camp for campers aged 8-16. We are located in the beautiful Adirondack Park reserve in Woodgate, NY (45 minutes north of Utica, NY).  We offer 1, 2 or 3 week sessions for both Boys and Girls, in alternate sessions.

The campsite itself is surrounded by vast countryside, made up of attractive woodlots and a collection of lakes. There is an abundance of space for extensive land sports, riding trails and nature hikes, with lots of untouched areas for exploring. Additional acreage provides a wilderness camping area for a natural outdoors experience.

These great facilities include a traditional style theater, recreation hall, numerous arts and crafts activities, tennis courts, a basketball court plus a complete waterfront for swimming, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and water skiing. Rustic but comfortable cabins have both electricity and indoor plumbing facilities and there is a fully equipped infirmary and spacious Dining Hall.

In 2016 the Dutchess District will sponsor two Dutchess County youths for a week of activities at the camp.  Hendrick Hudson Lodge #875 F&AM has been leading the initiative by sponsoring two youths each year for several years in the past.
